Day Trading

I am going to do my first blog post in a bit on the somewhat controversial subject of day trading. To some people it is the most evil thing that one can do and to others it is a life blood from which to live. There are of course a number of people in between those two points, but most people have some kinda opinion on it.

In full disclosure I make the whole of my living in digital currencies, I have bought, mined, and traded through a handful of them. I am by no means rich, nor do I have the best track record when trading. I can also say that other than bitcoin its self I have never stayed with one coin as long as I have with blackcoin.

All that aside I believe normal day trading is needed, people need to be able to sell or buy when ever they want. You can see the problem right now that there is a lack of traders in blackcoin. We have holders that are not selling, but every once in a bit someone has to/wants to sell some. Since we have a low volume of trades being done at anyone time these sell offs drop the price and a recovery is not quick at hand there for cementing in a new lower floor for the time being.

This is of course not to say we need pumps, which always lead to dumps. What we need are just normal traders who see a short term value. It is true that the traders keep a coin from raising very fast but they will also slow a coin from falling very fast. A lot of people are always helping with blackcoin, and we have some good things coming up. I would just like to remind everyone that posting on the forums or just a little promotion can help bring a bit of movement to the coin. Even if that moment is not so much up as it is sideways, such a thing will help calm nervous investors.

Blackout Wednesday Overview

Blackout Wednesday has come and gone now, if you have not seen the press release here it is Blackout Wednesday Yahoo. The  press release was followed by a solid day of trading, blackcoin was unable to break the 10k floor but also did not fall lower than the 9k floor. On top of that the press release was view on over 100 sites by numbers of people the like of which this little coin has not seen before.
The press release was not the only thing that happened to blackcoin on Wednesday and  may not even be the biggest one. In my opinion this one is the big news of the day, in case you have not heard  Coinkite opened up voting to take altcoins. The only alt-coin to have made it so far is blackcoin, doing in a few hours what others have not done in over 2 months. Blackcoin raised an astonishing 265,372 coins over 25 btc worth at that time. This was helped out by the generous donation of many including 50k from Mintpal. Coinkite will integrate Blackcoin into the point of sale system it makes and also produce a blackcoin debit card. This should all be done by June 1st making it an easy job for any merchant that wanted to take Blackcoins. There was also a mandatory 3 letter ticker needed for Coinkite as such BC became BLK, but normally exchanges will still be using the BC ticker if they want to.
For those worried about the heartbleed bug and everyone should be, there are updated wallets on the blackcoin website http://www.blackcoin.co/. These updated versions do not have the bug of course.
There is an IPO exchange oping up that will give 110% value for BC on the IPO, I would have to warn that most IPO exchanges have not turned out well for the investors. Here is the link to the bitcointalk thread about fastbit.
One last bit of news is a nice little twitter feed that updates every half hour with the price of BC anyone that wants to keep up to date on the go should check it out. BlackcoinMarket
I should have another update around midday tomorrow with information of one of the innovations that have already happening.

Blackout Wednesday Eve report

As I write this we are a mere five hours from the blackcoin press release that if successful will pull in attention from big investors with bigger sights than most of the fly by night day traders that roam the crypto landscape. Now on to the news round up.
Blackcoin has started being accepted at yet another casino http://xtremedice.com/. This casino was opened on March 26th of this year so they have not had much of a chance to build or destroyer their reputation.
The biggest news of the day is the price rise, which broke past 10,000 satoshis on some exchanges and even touched 9900 satoshis on mintpal which so far has been black coins biggest exchange. Despite the fast rise the price has not fallen back past 9000 and has even stay around 9800 as of the time of this writing.

Blackcoin moves forward

As this is just the start of my blog I plan on introductions are in order, my name is Jason Garrett but in most circles online I am know as kana. I am 29 years old and live near San Diego, California.

Those basics aside I am one of those people that heard of bitcoin in the early days of 2009 but failed to see the value in it having only heard the basics of it. When it started to raise I did invest in a few altcoins most namely doge and protoshares. I rode waves here and there for the coins, but for the most part I failed to see the logic in coins with a massive supply, as I thought inflation was one of the main things we were all trying to get away from. Though I still believed that some coins held potential.

Which brings us to blackcoin it showed a lot of what I wanted in a coin like all of the following.

  1. It has a limited supply of coins which have already been mined out. I have always disliked the mining part of coins as mining cost money so coins that are mined have to be dumped to pay for that mining.
  2. The blackcoin network has PoS mining with a low interest rate compare to other PoS coins out there. The around 1% annual interest of blackcoin makes it a near zero inflation coin when you account for coins that will be lost over time.
  3. The developer of blackcoin rat4 is very timely on updates and issue that have arisen over time.
  4. An active community manager that knows how to deal with people. This one was important for me because I have seen some community mangers curse, name call, etc. All of that is unprofessional and I believe hurts a coin in the long run. So far Soepkip has been one of the best I have seen.
These factors helped bring me to blackcoin, ever since I have been stuck with it. The developers as well as the community have been coming up with inovations for this coin across the board. They made the first altcoin multipool http://www.blackcoinpool.com/. There are rumors of a blackcoin rewards card, that could be used as a credit card. Although that one will take time if it happens at all. I write this all on the very eve of Blackout Wednesday a news blitz of major financial sites that will thrust black coin from main street too Wall Street.

This entry was just a small update and history of blackcoin, but seeing as my main source of income is cryptos I have the free time to read up on all the news and hopefully compact that into this blog as a daily blackcoin centric news source.
